Disabling Malwarebytes update notifications
- Go to your computer and open Malwarebytes
- The Malwarebytes icon will appear as M in Blue color in the system tray
- Click on the M icon and the Malwarebytes dashboard will appear
- Tap on Settings on the left pane
- Tap on Notify me when full version updates are available
- Toggle the switch to off
Disabling the update notifications won’t stop the update process however you won’t receive the notifications.
Disabling Malwarebytes notifications in System Tray
- Click the M icon from the system tray to open Malwarebytes
- Go to the left pane and click on Settings
- Tap on Notifications
- Go to Show Malwarebytes notification in the Windows System Tray
- Toggle the button to Off and now you won’t receive notifications on the system tray.
Disable Malwarebytes real-time protection settings notifications
- Click on the Malwarebytes icon and go to the dashboard
- Go to the left menu and hit on the Settings option
- Check the Notification column and choose Show Notifications when Real-Time Protection settings are turned Off
- If the switch is On toggle it to Off
Now your Malwarebytes antivirus won’t send you notifications when the protection settings are disabled.

Disable notifications on the lock screen
- Go to your device and click on the Applications folder
- Tap on the Apple icon and select System preferences
- Go to the upper right corner of system preferences and hit on Notifications
- Scroll down and select Malwarebytes
- Select None on Malwarebytes alert style
- You will see other notification options
- Go to Show notifications on the lock screen option and uncheck it
Close the Malwarebytes and now you won’t receive any notifications on the lock screen.
Disable Malwarebytes pop-ups in the notification center
- Open the Application folder and tap on the Apple icon
- Hit on System Preferences and select the Notifications tab
- Check the list and select Malwarebytes
- Go to Malwarebytes Alert Style and hit on None
- Now go to Show in Notification Center option and uncheck the box
Close the antivirus wizard and now your antivirus won’t show any Malwarebytes in the notifications center
Disable pop-ups in the Badge app icon
- Go to your Mac device and click on the Applications folder
- Choose the Apple icon and hit on System Preferences
- Now visit the Notifications tab
- You will see a list of apps
- Select Malwarebytes and hit on Malwarebytes Alert Style
- Select the None feature and inspect the Badge app icon
- Go to the icon and uncheck the box
Close your Malwarebytes applications and the badge app icon won’t show any Malwarebytes-related notifications.
Disable sound for notifications
- Open your Mac device and go to your Application folder
- Select the Apple icon and choose the System Preferences option

- On the list, select Malwarebytes
- Choose None section on Malwarebytes alert style
- Tap on Play sound for the notifications option and uncheck the box

Hiding Malwarebytes notifications using Play Mode

This mode hides all notifications when you are playing games or watching movies etc. You will receive a notification once you quit the game. - Go to your PC and open Malwarebytes
- Open the dashboard and tap on the Settings option
- Go to the Notifications tab and scroll down to Play mode
- Check for suspend notifications and updates when selected apps are open
- Toggle the switch to On
- Now click on Add option in the play mode
- Choose applications to add and hit on Open
- Selected applications will be added to the Play Mode
Now you won’t receive notifications whenever you are using that application.
What to do when Malwarebytes restricts all changes?
